My 14 year old daughter has been getting a lot of pimples off late. Have tried giving her lot of fruits and keep her hydrated, not of much use. She is very frustrated. I don’t want to put her on any medication, is there any natural remedy?

Its true. I have a daughter who has small acne on her forehead too. She has healthy eating habits and we use only whole foods at home that are organic. At this age there will be some harmonal fluctuations and over time it will stabilize. Turmeric helps..but healing is typically an inside out approach and not outside in. Unless she is on full raw / high raw with only dinner cooked, body will continue to act funny in this age.
Oil Free Vegetables Cutlet
Doing the veggie cutlet without oil may seem impossible. But cooking the food in simple ways such as steaming, and grilling actually retains the flavour along with the enzymes and nutrition of the food If you do not have an oven, worry not, you could use some cold pressed oil and lightly cook the cutlets on the usual tawa. This may not turn out exactly like the tikki waale bhaiyya does, but in our view keeps the taste intact. Combine it with your green chutney and imli chutney and you won't miss the oil fried version!
Creamy Broccoli Soup
B for blissful health…B for broccoli !! Try this broccoli soup & be in bliss. Easy to do, the cashew lends it a milky flavor. So kids are happy to eat it too! Just do not tell them it's Broccoli. This is a winter soup, best done when Broccoli is abundantly available.

I can tell you two things - First - It's best to avoid chemical based harsh shampoos and conditioners. You may feel theywill improve your hair, but trust me its only short term. Look around for natural ingredients based shampoo. I know someone in Gurgaon, my neighbor in fact, who does natural shampoos, free from SLS, paraben, etc. If you want I can put you in touch with her. 2nd - All my life I had dry hair. They looked very rough. But since 2015, when I changed my diet to whole plant based, my hair became shiny & manageable. No matter what you do externally for your daughter's hair, pls don't ignore that she has to be well nourished from within too. Fruits, a generous serving every morning & evening, fruit juices, fruit smoothies, veggie juices, coconut water - basically look for high water content food.
Tell me 10 natural health hacks that I can do to keep myself healthy in my busy life schedule. I know exercise and eating right food can do that but are there any easier options available apart from these?

There is no shortcut to good health dear 😊. Try this. 1. Let ur first meal of the day be fruits. 2. Carry healthy snacks to work. Make a snack bar at office - nuts, makhana, chana, dry fruits. 3. Every 2 hours, take a break, stretch, close ur eyes and relax. 4. Always keep a fruit in your bag. Whenever you feel hungry, have the fruit. Replace tea/coffee with fruit. 5. Carry a box of salad for lunch. 6. Take stairs instead of lift to get your body moving. 7. Don’t take stress. When stressed, take a break and divert ur mind. 8. Spend 10 minutes in the early morning or evening sun. You may schedule an official call during that time and take it with the sun!! 9. Keep lemons, knife and squeezer in office. Have 1-2 lemons everyday. 10. When on the road, stop for few minutes to have coconut water.
Oil free Aloo Matar
Here is another daily recipe - done in a healthful manner. Dairy should not be combined with other food groups (if you are consuming it, have it alone). Instead of dairy we have used cashew nuts - a whole food which provides natural oils to us. We have also done this recipe oil free, as refined oil just adds to our digestive overload.

Ragi is a variety of millets rich in calcium and iron. Here's a recipe for making a simple recipe with the highly nutritious ragi- ragi porridge! It is ideal to be used as a natural, first-food for babies. It is a great alternative to processed instant foods. My lips & skin are feeling very dry. What can be done?

Hi all, our bodies signal even the minutest one is actually body’s greatest communication tool. It is telling you that you need to do some correction. Our body maintains an acid-alkaline balance, and every time we put more load on the body through wrong foods, late hours, no time to rest and repair, and no time for outdoors activity the body accumulates a lot of acidity called toxins. Dry skin and dry lips is a clear indication that you need to up your raw to create that much needed balance. Creams and oils, will only provide external relief but root cause remains same that body needs internal hyrdration at cellular level. Along with these you need to figure out what is causing all the ‘drying up’ i.e lack of rest, lack of proper sleep, too much ‘ontime’, too much gadget time, too less time in sunlight and fresh air. You may eat all the right foods yet, all these factors may will increase your acidic levels and thus reduce the good impact of hydrating foods. Here are few immediate actions you may take: Eating more raw, fresh, whole plant based foods. You can read about it here. Eating in accordance to Circadian Rhythm of body. You can read about it here. Sunlight and breathing are two easiest, natural and most effective way to create alkaline reserves within body and to support body to clean up effectively. So increase your time for both. Start slow, 15 minutes daily. Increase it slowly and steadily. Sleeping & resting: Allow enough downtime to your body. Reduce the load of gadgets as they also consume your energy and increase acidic load. Give yourself enough downtime in evening towards night to ensure body continues to be in rhythm of nature.

Pls help me with a remedy for bad throat, have been taking ginger honey. But seems to be a mild remedy.

Make sure to avoid tea, coffee, fizzy or bottles drinks during this period (or even later!) They do add a lot of damage to sore throat. Instead focus on increasing fruits … a lot of it in your daily intake. This will avoid long term recurrence.
My husband is having loose motions for the past 4 days. Any idea what to do?
Rishi Arya
10:58 AM | 19-11-2018
Your husband needs to rest a lot and allow body to do its job of cleaning up. Fevers, loose motions, cold and cough are mechanisms of the body to eliminate excess toxins. When our body’s acid-alkaline balance is skewed towards higher acidity the body, sets these functions in motion and restore the balance. Thus here, ample rest is the key. Allow the toxicity to come out, have faith that body is healing. Rest is meant 3 ways here, physically, mentally and even digestively. Anar are effective plus u can apply cold compress. Soak towel in cold water, squeeze it and keep it on stomach. Also, apply ginger juice on navel.
I have been feeling very thirsty off late n have been sipping water often. What could be the reason?
Ankur Bhatia
12:07 PM | 16-11-2018
You may notice that sipping only water may not be really quenching your thirst. Excessive thirst indicates the following: Your ‘energy consumption’ is higher vs. what you are adding to replenish. That your consumption of raw hydrating foods is lower vs. cooked foods that demand more water for digestion That you may be spending a lot of energy through overactive mind, work office stress, anxious emotions etc. This is heating you up That your recharging of the body and cooling down through natural means is on lower side ie through connecting with sunshine, grass fresh air, and nature overall is low. When excessive thirst strikes best is to up your fruits intake. You can increase this amply and feel the difference. Eat seasonal fruits and a variety. Start your day with good 2-3 rounds of fruits; each time eat till you are full and wait for an hour or so for hunger to strike again then eat another round. Fruits take the least amount of energy to digest and have almost 90% + water content, which is easily absorbed by our bodies so do not undermine this! Soaking dry fruits and having them is another way of eating fruits and keeping yourself hydrated. Cut down you tea, coffee, and any other sources of caffeine. Similarly cut down your packages processed foods drastically which are high on sugar and salt (ie bread, market bought sauces, refined oil, refined flour, refined sugar, table salt etc). Instead every time you feel thirsty, go for a fruit (Yes, it works!). Only thing you have to remember is to eat the fruit alone either 30-45 minutes before meals or 2 hours after.
Dear all,Anyone has any inputs regarding typhoid? Hubby is detected with it and in bad shape. He had severe vomiting and fainting spells last week and this was diagnosed in the blood test.

Hi. Your husband’s body seems to be acidic in nature, hence the typhoid. Germs need an acidic medium to grow and proliferate. Thus any illness (bacterial or viral) happens mainly cause our body acts as the host. We have higher toxicity due to multiple reasons such as processed foods, over consumption of dairy, grains and non veg, lack of ample fruits and veggies and raw in food, lack of proper rest and downtime to repair, lack of sunlight and fresh air, stress etc. You must focus on restoring the acid-alkaline balance of the body. Increase alkaline foods such as fruits and raw veggies. Reduce acidic foods such as grains, dairy, refined oil, refined salt, refined sugar and packaged foods. Increase his immunity by giving lemon-haldi-ginger-honey every 3-4 hours. Rest is extremely important and so is sunning.... good luck dear, hope he feels better soon
Chopped Cucumber Coconut Salad
Available in abundance during the summer months, cucumber is the king of vegetables for a summer salad. With its high water content, its a must have to keep you hydrated in summers. Variate the cut of cucumber in each salad (chopped, chunky, sliced, half moon, like noodles) and you have different tasting salad. Add a different nut (coconut, peanut, sesame) and it lends more variety. This recipe puts together crunchy cucumbers with fresh coconut. It's a very basic, quick to do salad with a south Indian style tempering. Goes well with a simple dal-chawal meal or can be served with almost anything.
Watermelon Mint Juice - An Instant Summer Cooler
Watermelon, the classic summer fruit is nature's gift to keep our body hydrated and cool during summer months. This recipe combines watermelon juice with flavourful, cooling and fragrant mint leaves to create a perfect summer cooler! When you cut a watermelon, which does not turn out to be that sweet or juicy, simply churn in blender and make a juice. Tastes a lot better. Incase you are in a hurry, put in blender along with seeds, and sieve later.
Hara Bhara Kabab (Cutlets with greens)
Have this kebab raw or grilled with Imli chutney or hari chutney. Makes a great party snack. You can add your choice of veggies, whatever is available in fridge. Ideally a winter snack, made with lots of palak you can simply do it with other veggies. This version does not have potatoes, add them if you feel the need.
Rasse Wala Aloo Curry Oil Free!
This is a much loved standard curry in Indian homes. But cooking it without oil? Yes thats possible, with no compromise on flavour! When we made this the first time, we realised the ample addition of lovely herbs and masalas just makes it so flavourful that no oil was missed at all! The easy trick to go oil free in most curry preps is: Steaming veggies (including potatoes) and making the masala the usual way without oil ofcourse!
